Miami, FL, 8th June 2022, ZEXPRWIRE, Reid Lawrence, the founder of Sickening Events an NYC-based queer videographer has partnered with Wynwood Pride Festival to capture dozens of performances by queer and drag artists during the festival’s upcoming weekend.
This comes as a first for both the festival and Sickening Events. “Partnering with Wynwood Pride is something I’ve been excited to do for years, being able to finally spotlight all of the drag artists is definitely an honor. Now the world will get to see them too!” Reid says.
Wynwood Pride will feature headliners such as Marina, Azealia Banks, Violet Chachki (Rupal’s Drag Race), Gottmik (Rupaul’s Drag Race), Slayyyter, Miss Toto, and others.
This is Wynwood Pride’s fourth year, with attendance expected to outpace past years. “We are really excited to have Sickening Events for this year’s festival, we really love what they do for the community and their amazing queer content,” says Jose Atencio of Wynwood Pride.
This partnership comes after the 2021 Wynwood Pride festival where Sickening Events was brought in to edit performances and other content for their live-streamed virtual festival.
Global audiences will now be able to re-live the action-packed weekend for free on YouTube immediately post-festival and experience the excitement of the Miami queer scene. The decision from Wynwood Pride for video coverage comes after the pandemic where some are not able to make it to the festival, yet would still like to get involved.
